We spent Part of the month of January and most of February Photo Jan 31, 10 51 10 AMat Sun n Fun RV Resort in Sarasota, FL This mega RV Resort has over 1300+ Spots and tons and tons of things to do. With an indoor and outdoor Olympic size swimming pool, state of the art fitness center. Literally hundreds of planned activities going on all the time. It is like being on a cruise on the land. Very, very nice. On the negative – spots are tight and the wireless is worthless. Also in the high season it is EXTREMELY expensive (over 2K a month). This is our second time at the resort and for those who like always having something to do. This is the place for you. Also, Sarasota is a great town with good restaurants, beaches and no end of things to do. If you are not going to take advantage of the park – the price for it is way overkill.

Drone Video Flyover footage we did of the park

The spots at Sun n Fun tend to be quite tight with your neighbors being Photo Jan 31, 10 17 16 AMright beside you. They are plenty big enough for the big rigs and the roads getting in where designed for the biggest of the big rigs. You also need to be careful when it comes to what spots you get if you want to get satellite TV. A lot of the sites are under trees. We requested one that was not and we had satellite the entire time.

Regarding Internet, The service provided the park simply does not work. They do not have enough bandwidth to support the park and are aware of it. They are supposedly trying to rectify it but I have heard that for the last two years.

Site quality = 3/5

Facilities = 5/5

Amenities = 5/5

Out of all the parks we have been to, this park has the most amenities and things to by far  of any park we have ever been to. If you are going to a park/resort to experience the “things” to do “at” the park. This is the place to go. We won’t be able to do justice all of the items (because I am sure we can’t remember them all. Here is a list of the ones we can remember

Location = 4/5

Sun n Fun RV Resort is about 3 miles off the Highway and withing 6 Photo Jan 31, 10 25 21 AMmiles of downtown Sarasota. There are some great restaurants within 10 miles of the resorts and tons of things to do in Sarasota. It is not on the water but it is close to everything. There is a Target, Publix and Sam’s Club within 3 miles of the resort. The only reason we don’t give it a 5/5 is the traffic can be bad (in season) and it can be difficult to get to places due to the traffic and places around there.

Pet friendliness = 4/5

Sun n’ Fun definitely is a Pet Friendly resort. Most everyone at that Photo Jan 31, 10 37 34 AM (1)park had Dogs. But I believe there limit is 2. But i know there were many people there with more than 2 :). They have a small dog park and one very large dog park. There are informal get togethers at the large dog park every day at 9:30 and 3:30 and people are usually out using them during the day. But we tried to use the open fields (Frisbee Golf course that no one was at) and got yelled at for off leash. it is not they are being tough – it is just put 1300 RV’ers together and there will alway be bad apples. There is a great place to take the dogs to run them a mile away called the celery fields. Big open fields, really nice…

Overall rating = 4.0 BONUS ALERT = Mega Resort located in lovely Sarasota, FL

We rated this a 4.0 out of 5 because it would be probably one of the nicest resorts we had been to if it was not for

  • Internet that did not work
  • Tight spots
  • Super expensive prices in high season

Still a great place to visit. Cool place to take the kids (or grand kids) to. Probably a lot cheaper in off season.
